PILOT PROGRAM

Run one issue with us.
Free.

No municipality signs a $2,500/mo contract with a v0.1.0 product they’ve never seen work. We know that. The pilot exists so both sides can make an informed decision.

REFERENCE CLASS

What one issue usually costs

Consultant-led community engagement study$20,000 – $50,000 per issue

The reference class we're replacing — a firm running a series of town halls, surveys, and a report.

Traditional public-comment periodStaff time + notice costs

Free-looking, but access-biased and low-fidelity. The consensus signal is not extractable.

Civic Filament pilotFree (first issue)

A working artifact (the LRD) at the end, and a clear decision point about whether to continue.

Our price framing for the recurring tier: one issue with us costs less than one town-hall series. At $2,500/mo, the Municipal tier runs unlimited issues for less than the cost of a single consultant engagement.

WHAT THE PILOT COVERS

Included / not included

INCLUDED

  • ◇One issue of your choice, run end-to-end (framing → interviews → LRD)
  • ◇Setup of the AI mediator for that issue and your local context (interviews are English-only today)
  • ◇A pre-deployment consent + records-law addendum tailored to your jurisdiction
  • ◇The published LRD and its full version history, hosted on civicfilament.org and exportable
  • ◇A 45-minute readout with your engagement lead + one other stakeholder
  • ◇A written retrospective on what the LRD says and what a next step could look like

NOT INCLUDED

  • ◇A recurring engagement schedule (that's the Municipal tier)
  • ◇Multi-issue quotas (that's Municipal)
  • ◇Custom integrations, SSO, dedicated hosting (Enterprise conversation)
  • ◇A commitment on your side to buy anything after the pilot

Good pilot candidates

  • ◇You have a live-ish issue where you actually don’t know what residents want.
  • ◇You’re able to promote the interview link through channels residents already use — nothing is published until at least 10 residents have taken part.
  • ◇You have someone internally who can sign a Data Handling Addendum.
  • ◇Not a good fit: you need FedRAMP-authorized hosting today.
  • ◇Not a good fit: the “issue” is fundamentally a ballot question where a nuanced LRD wouldn’t be actionable.
  • ◇Not a good fit: you need the pilot completed before Q1 close (setup takes ~2 weeks).
